RSS problems

Postby italian_user on Tue Oct 11, 2011 11:21 am

Hello, I have problems with the RSS in the Blogs.
the rss in the summary work well.

Any RSS (0.9, 1.0, 2.0, atom, etc) don't work.
The problem is:
<b>Warning</b>: is_readable() [<a href='function.is-readable'>function.is-readable</a>]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(./rss/rss20.template) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/w55654/) in <b>/home/w55654/domains/occhiettineri.it/public_html/blog/class/file/file.class.php</b> on line <b>208</b><br />
^

What can I do?

thanks

Hrm. I don't know. I would ask your host provider, since the rss template file is within the lifetype directory, so I would think the openbasedir wouldn't bother it.

the filename looks odd, (ie. just ./rss/rss20.template seems like it should be longer than that, though maybe that works since the entry point is index.php or whatever in the root directory. Perhaps your host doesn't accept relative paths?

Maybe!
My host asked me if the rss use tmp files.
'cause LifeType use the tmp folder of the server, and they have set up a tmp folder for every account inside of own account.

So for the correct work of the blog, I set up in config.properties.php file:
define(PERSONAL_TMP_DIR, '/home/w55654/tmp');

After, I replaced in getid3.php
// Create empty file
$empty = tempnam(PERSONAL_TMP_DIR, 'getID3');
touch($empty);

and in the getit3.lib.php
// try to create a temporary file in the system temp directory - invalid dirname should force to system temp dir
if (($data_filename = tempnam(PERSONAL_TMP_DIR, 'getID3')) === false) {
// can't find anywhere to create a temp file, just die
return false;
}

Maybe also for the RSS I forgot some replace in some files??
Or this is not important for the creation of the RSS?

thanks Jon!

The getid stuff is for mp3 files, and things like that.

RSS uses tmp files (in the tmp directory under the base install), just like everything else in the LifeType system. I don't know why RSS would be seen any differently than the other template files to your host.

Hi Jon,
is it possible the problem is the new php.5.3?

Could be, but I still don't know why it would only affect RSS templates.
