Length of blog entries

Length of blog entries

Postby g_marinakis on Fri Jun 11, 2010 5:58 pm

Hi, I use Lifetype to publish my free, ad-free online magazine, the Journal of Sustainability, http://www.journalofsustainability.com.

I'm using Lifetype to publish a magazine, rather than a blog. One difference is article length. Sometimes I get an article that is so long, I have to break it into three parts. Is there a way to configure Lifetype to allow for much longer article lengths (blog entries)?

Thanks.

I guess you are running into the database limit of 65536 characters?
I don't think there are any limitations within lifetype itself, so you could probably update the articles_text table to have the "text" and "normalized_text" columns by of type "mediumtext" or "longtext" (16,777,216 and 4,294,967,296 characters respectively). You can use phpmyadmin, or whatever database editor your host provides to change that type.
