Customized profile for each user

Customized profile for each user

Postby zeugman on Sat Apr 26, 2008 12:52 pm

Hi,
I'm a newbie on Lifetype and I want to develop a plugin to give users a profile page. Each user should have the same profile page. This page should be accessible in the main menu of the blogs templates. User can modify his informations in his administration panel. Extra Fields which appears in each user profile are fixed by the admin.

What is the better way to do this?

I haven't done it before, but I would add a profile.template to /templates/default/ and do it that way. Then, all your plugin has to do is to save the extra user data. I'd save the userdata in the blog settings probably, since I haven't used the properties field of the user before, though it looks like userinfo->{set/get}Properties might be easy enough to use as well.
