Will "Sticky Post" ever get updated?

Postby Gina.Maria on Thu Jan 24, 2008 10:16 am

I'd love to be able to make a post 'sticky' but I haven't figured out how to make that happen and the 1.1 version currently available makes my blog go nuts. Any thoughts on this?

I believe there are instructions (for developers) on the wiki about how to upgrade plugins to the 1.2 structure. I think most of the required changes are fairly cut-and-paste, but the plugin authors (or the LifeType developers) haven't taken the time to upgrade them, but working on the core instead.

I think most of the templates and plugins could be reasonably updated by non-developers, and if you post the finished code to bugs.lifetype.net, we can check the work, and do any little things that you might have missed.

Upgrading plugins and templates isn't that interesting work, so I think the developers tend to hope that users will do it instead.

lifetype plugin stickyposts

lifetype plugin stickyposts

lifetype version 1.26
stickyposts version: 1.2

"lifetype plugin" stickposts up-to-date with lifetype 1.26 now.

Stickyposts should be a feature supported in LifeType.

What changed from Stickyposts 1.1:

1. added to pluginstickyposts.class.php:
lt_include( PLOG_CLASS_PATH."class/template/menu/menu.class.php" );

2. find: include_once
replace with: lt_include

Just "sticky post", remove announce post.
Use a custom field to specify a sticky post.
