Has anybody thought/discussed about a plugin that allows site visitors to e-mail the blog owner? ie, like the comments, only instead of leaving a comment visible to the world, it shows up in thier inbox.

edit#1: um, oops. I probably should have posted in the 'Requests and Suggestions' forum. Well, to keep from double posting, I won't fix my mistake, but moderators feel free to move this post.

What's wrong with having a link called "contact me" in your blog page so that people know how and where to contact you?

Search for "contact" plugin or something like that. I wrote a form that uses some external php, and another guy wrote one that is a more "for real" lifetype plugin.

Here is the link to the form ... ght=#31739

But I can't explain you how to turn this into a plug-in and play.

I don't think he made it as a plugin, but modified core code. It is on my list to take a look at this, but obviously haven't gotten to it.

Due to changing my own site from a separate installation to a shared installation, I've needed to redo my contact page (which used to simply use php), but I can't let random people run php code on my server, so I needed to come up with a plugin.
The "contact" plugin is now available via sourceforge for lifetype 1.2.

I've updated the plugin to use the same security/spam settings as normal comments, so I expect I'll be back down to zero spams again (with just the bayesian filter, I was getting a bunch of spams via the plugin - the spammers must search for "contact" forms, as I started getting spam within a couple hours of installing this plugin...)
It also supports a blacklist of banned keywords for even more filtering.

I can't tell if you are some sort of spammer who forgot to put in links to his website, or if you are a legitimate person...

But, for now, I'll assume you are real (I did erase one of your posts that wasn't relevant to the discussion...).

There isn't a "contact" form built-in to LifeType, so if people want it, they need to install the contact plugin.
