Still on the road?

Still on the road?

Postby ogd39 on Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:24 am

Hello!
I'm wondering:
Is lifetype still alive?
Is it always on the road to make the 2.0 version one day available?
thank you
LT version installed : 1.2.6

I think a couple of the developers (or maybe even more than a couple) are quite busy, so we have had a hard time getting 1.2.9 checked - I have been encouraging users to upgrade, but I haven't heard if any have - if I could get a couple people to check it out, and make sure we didn't break anything, we'd be pretty close to releasing 1.2.9.

How can I find out which files were changed from 1.2.8 to 1.2.9? I modified a couple of the 1.2.8 ... that's why I am asking ...

@chromos :idea: http://winmerge.org/
or run a diff command via the cvs....
PHP Version 4.4.7
MySQL Version 5.0.27-standard (client: 5.0.27)
Linux / Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) CGI (scripts running as my user)

Once we release it, we'll have an upgrade file. The answer is (for this "minor" upgrade) probably almost every file in the class/action and class/view directories.

Thank you Jon for your answer.
Then we'll wait 1.2.9 and we will many people, I think who will be quite happier when 2.0 will be ready

the more testers the faster bugs get found, and features are solidified...

I am on linux and have no clue which command to run =)
In fact I haven't used cvs on my fedora yet ...

Lifetype uses svn not cvs, my mistake:
http://lifetype.net/page/development#su ... repository
Winmerge is a free program to help you compare files side by side, line for line, invaluable!

Jon is http://lifetype.net/snapshots/lifetype-devel-latest.zip 1.2.9 or 2.x, where should one get 1.2.9 to test?

That is 1.2.9. I guess that isn't obvious, but the way I look at it is the nightly builds are the ones we want people to try out, and the next release following the current one. Though, probably those should switch to 2.0 the minute 1.2.9 is released, even if we end up with a 1.2.10 for some unforeseen bug or something.

I am getting an error when clicking on preview.

Warning: include(/home/foo/public_html/class/data/validator/datetimevalidator.class.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/foo/public_html/class/object/loader.class.php on line 7

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/foo/public_html/class/data/validator/datetimevalidator.class.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/foo/public_html/class/object/loader.class.php on line 7

Fatal error: Class 'DateTimeValidator' not found in /home/foo/public_html/class/action/admin/adminpostmanagementcommonaction.class.php on line 59

I upgraded to 1.2.9 by replacing all the file in class/action and class/view with those from the latest-snapshot.

EDIT: had to replace class/data/validator to get it working ...

I guess more files were modified ... Have been running into another error.

When clicking on the edit button next to a post on the dashboard:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method AdminController::checkactionexist() in /home/foo/public_html/class/action/admin/adminmainaction.class.php on line 117

EDIT: fixed by replacing /class/controller/controller.class.php

Sorry - I didn't mean that only those files had been changed. Yes - lots of files have been changed in this upgrade. It is possible that it is a touch slower, though I don't think it would be noticeable, I haven't noticed anything on my blog. The data is validated more securely, and so things are checked when submitted, which would take some time, but I would expect the small number of checks that have been added per request are insignificant when compared to all the other code that runs.

No problem :) I just had to learn how to use diff to compare directories ;) diff -rq is key ... :)

Hadn't updated a bunch of files ...
