1.2_gallery.zip: I have set it in administrator, why user...

Dear all,

I have installed the Gallery2 plugin and made the setup in my administrator backend, why users also need to do the setup again?

-> I don't think a general user will know how to set it up! (even me, as an administrator, takes time to study and figure out what should we fill in!)

-> actually it's not a good idea to let a general user to touch the settings!

-> so anyways to avoid this?

Thanks for any kind of help!

Not entirely sure but it will probably be to do with how the plugin works - some can be setup globally and then the user is allowed to either over ride those settings or not as admin dictate and some need to be set individually...

Thanks Nomad for your info!

But... any ideas on how to:
* firstly replicate the settings (as set by the administrator) of Gallery2 plugin to all users?

* then protect some settings from being changed by users?
* while leaving only necessary settings that allow user changes?

Thanks for any kind of help!

Setting some default values and locking some others would be possible if this plugin supported the "plugin settings framework" like most plugins do (like the 'authimage' plugin and some others), but it looks like the author did not implement this feature. Unfortunately this plugin wasn't developed by any of us, so if interested you could give it a try (it's not difficult at all):
