summary's template

summary's template

Postby ogd39 on Fri Apr 27, 2007 10:09 am

Hello!
Just an idea...
It could be great to have 2 or 3 different templates for the summary, and then, an administrator could choose which to use...
I'm working on one and if some people would want to create other ones, It could be great, couldn't it?
Bye

Additional templates for the summary is unfortunately not an option because it's a maintenance headache in every release...

Hello!
But if all technical codes and functions are similar and we just chage the css and the design code in the php files, I don't understand where the problem is about releases?
Thanks and have a good week end !

The problem is that after every major release, we would have to retest all the summary templates that make sure that they all offer the same level of functionality and most of the times is not as easy as just updating a CSS file...

Your right on that one - just updated my front page to the new layout but incorporating my styling...though I did have some bother sorting the css out. Made a good start on sorting it though.

Got to agree here though - think this is up to the individual not the project...
Blog Ireland - now with video posting
Normally most write something meaningful here so many to choose from yet most oft ignored.

Well, it's never too late to start! As a webmaster, nowadays you really need to know at least a little CSS so why don't you find a nice tutorial and give it a try?

:cry:
on the admin' css I try to personalize the colors...
Under firefox, ll is ok, but under IE, some color have a bad behaviour...
See it:
Image
You see? the color doesn't appear on the whole ul tag...
And if I go to ressources, or administration, it looks bad too...
but under FF, all is ok...

here is my css code modified (only for colors)
Code: Select all
/**
 * styles for the 'manage' page and similar.
 */
#content .menuTop
{
    list-style-type : none;
    padding-left: 45px;
    padding-right: 45px;
    margin: 0px;
}

#content .menuTop ul
{
 padding: 0px;
 margin: 0px;
 background       : #c8d9f2;
}

#content .menuTop .Level_1
{
    font-family      : trebuchet ms, tahoma, sans-serif;
    font-size        : 1.0em;
    font-weight      : bold;
    letter-spacing   : 0.08em;
    border-bottom    : 1px solid #DEDEDE;
    padding-top      : 10px;
    text-align       : left;
}

#content .menuTop .Level_0
{
    padding-left: 10px;
    font-weight      : normal;
     background       : #c8d9f2;
}

#content .menuTop .Level_0 a
{
    color           : #888888;
    text-decoration : none;
}

#content .menuTop .Level_0 a:hover
{
    color           : #5583BE;
    text-decoration : none;
}

Thank you

to be clear, titles have not to be colored, just lists...
so the bottom of the picture is ok but no the top... where the list is half colored
