Charset problems!

Charset problems!

Postby magla on Wed Dec 27, 2006 8:19 am

Hi!

I'm working on translating to Croatian. Now, I changed encoding in locale_hr_HR.php to $messages['encoding'] = 'UTF-8'; but when I upload file it is recognised as charset=iso-8859-1... No matter what I do it ends up 8859-1...

All help appreciated,

you maybe have set iso-8859-1 hardcoded within the templates?

Nope, charset is set by {$locale->getCharset()}.

Also, in administartion pannel, when I upload my locale it is rtecognised and 8859-1 and not utf-8, like this:

"hr_HR iso-8859-1 Croatian locale file for LifeType"

That's weird because the file encoding is taken literally from the $messages['encoding'] string, so whatever you type there should be listed as the file encoding (LT is not doing any fancy encoding checks on your file)

Please make sure you're uploading the right place to the right place. Oh and now that I remember, locale files are also cached so you might need to clean the contents of the tmp/ folder every time you make a change (and see if that helps)
